You can start a return request by visiting our Return Portal.
Return Window: You have 30 days from your order date to request and return items.
Shipping Returns: Please return items promptly after approval, especially if close to the 30-day limit.
Refund Processing Time: Gift cards are emailed after your return has been processed; refunds to the original payment method may take 10 business days.
Return Method: You can choose a Goulet Pens gift card or a refund to your original payment method.
Exchanges: We do not offer direct exchanges. If you have a defective item, our Customer Care team might be able to offer you a replacement or a refund.
Fees: There is no standard return fee. We may charge up to 10% of the item price for missing components, and we will notify you if this applies to your return.
Damaged items or Defective Returns: We provide prepaid return labels for items that are defective or damaged upon arrival.
Preference-Based Returns: For all other returns, customers are responsible for return shipping costs. These do not get reimbursed.
International Returns: We do not provide prepaid return labels for international orders. However, if you’re returning a defective item, we’ll reimburse your return shipping cost—up to the amount you originally paid for shipping. Please note that import duties and VAT are non-refundable.
Non-returnable Items: No returns/refunds on Bottom Shelf items, gift cards, ink samples, used notebooks/inks, Namiki Pens, Bespoke Sailor pens, or any fountain pen over $1000 if it has touched ink.
Condition for Returns: All returns need to be returned in their original box with any accessories that were included. Pens need to be emptied of ink and cleaned, or a cleaning fee of $15 will apply. We do not accept returns for user-damaged items or improper use.
Denial of Returns: We reserve the right to deny any return for any reason. Return orders sent without prior approval will be returned to the customer.
